BATTLE AT CORAL SEA
May 1942 was the first major sea-air battle recorded in history where Allied naval ships and Japanese imperial naval fleet engaged in dogfights over the skies. In the southeast of New Guinea Port Moresby the Japanese attempted to make a landing, but due to Allied code-breakers they were intercepted by aircraft carrier planes of the American task force.
